Job Posting: Content Producers

Red Line Editorial, a leading producer of nonfiction and fiction books and digital products for the K-12 educational market, is currently seeking full-time Content Producers to join our growing editorial staff.

The best candidates will offer top-notch researching skills and a journalist’s sense for detail, accuracy, and speed, along with an ability to produce interesting content on a broad range of topics.

You’ll work with a team of editors, designers, content managers, and a senior management team that is focused on producing quality educational content.

These newly created positions will be primarily focused on research and writing but will include some other editorial tasks and may evolve to include some light page layout work as well.

Our Content Producers will fill an essential role on our staff. Duties will include:
— Researching topics across K-12 curriculum
— Writing book manuscripts and online posts on a broad range of topics, including science, math, history, geography, sports, and more, at a variety of lengths and reading levels
— Editing the work of other writer/editors
— Developmental editing and project management of assigned manuscripts, with oversight from other editors
— Other editorial duties, to include copy editing, fact-checking, photo research, proofreading, index creation

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
–BA in Journalism (preferred), Communications, English, or equivalent
–Ability to write in a variety of styles and to match specifications provided for each project
–Strong researching skills, both online and in a library setting
–Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
–Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style
–Ability to work independently and in a team environment
–Ability to take constructive criticism and to revise and rework material based on feedback
–Excellent oral and written communication skills
–Experience with writing leveled text preferred
–Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
–Familiarity with html preferred

These will be full-time, salaried positions with benefits, on-site in our Burnsville office.
