Job Posting: Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Red Line Editorial (RLE) and its affiliated companies are looking for a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join our staff of print and online publishing professionals. This position may be full time or part time, depending on the applicant.

The companies work across a spectrum of services for the publishing industry, with particular specialties in K-12 educational books, Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction, sports, and e-books.

This is a position that will give the right candidate the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment in a position that requires keen attention to detail and an ability to multitask and track various clients and vendors.

Duties will include:

Bookkeeping/Order Processing
— Process orders daily, both through manual data entry and EDI
— Submit fulfillment requests to warehouse
— Process data management requests and special orders
— Monitor shipping notifications to ensure prompt order delivery
— Create and send invoices to customers, both manually and through EDI
— Offer customer service to wholesalers and individual customers
— Reconcile monthly consignment and digital-sales reports; enter sales receipts and create invoices
— Enter bills from vendors

— Assist with mailings and handle mailing lists
— Create and coordinate vendor contracts
— Manage distribution of comp and promotional copies of books
— Manage server and Cloud storage usage as needed
— Perform light HR duties such as distributing and filing forms
— Other duties as assigned

— Bachelor’s or associates degree in accounting, business, HR, or related field
— Strong knowledge of Quickbooks software; experience with Quickbooks Enterprise preferred
— Excellent communication and organizational skills
— Experience with Microsoft Office programs (mainly Excel and Word)
— Strong attention to detail and accuracy
— Ability to multitask
— A high level of professionalism
